Entre luzes e sombras
passados e futuros
herança e desejo,
meu contorno se faz, refaz e desfaz
Danço com a Luz
no infinito do instante
e me desvelo
uma
e
várias
- Tati Pi (Compositora Brasileira e minha irmã por escolha)
Between lights and shadows
past and future
inheritance and desire,
my counter is made, remade, and unmade
I Dance with the light
in the infinity of the moment
and I am unveiled
as one
and
as many
- Tati Pi (Brazilian songwriter and sister by choice)
Film exists as an extension of the physical work—a way of seeing it. Accompanied by a poem by Tati Pi, voiced by Tati Pi and Sandra Bacchi.
Entre (Between) features a 2' × 480' film strip composed of 240 family portraits. The shadows cast by overhead lighting explore the ephemeral nature of life and memory.
As an immigrant mother, I often wonder how much my family history shapes who I am, and how that inheritance continues through my daughters.
